Since the 1990s, 3E Institute has been engaged in research projects of climate change with the support of relevant government departments, especially in the field of energy development strategies and greenhouse gas emission reduction measures. For example ‘China's National Strategy on Climate Change’, ‘Clean Development Mechanism in China’ ‘Country Studies on Climate Change’，‘Simulation study on collaborative governance paths of Climate change and economy, society, environment in China’, ‘Key Technologies of Greenhouse Gas Emission Monitoring and Quality Control in Key Industries in China’, and ‘Development and Improvement of Comprehensive Assessment Models for Climate Change Impact Assessment’.
Energy and climate change policy has always been an important research direction of 3E Institute, and research results also provide useful policy reference for government departments。
