Global Climate Governance

Since the early 1990s, 3E, with the support of government departments and cooperation with major international organizations, has actively participated in the IPCC report, UNEP Global Emission reduction Gap Assessment report, international climate change negotiations under the UNFCCC, COP and so on.

The important projects including “Research on supporting technologies of industry emission reduction and market mechanism in international response to climate change”， “Study on strategies and countermeasures of China's participation in international cooperation mechanism on climate change”， “The mechanism of Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation”， “Innovative integrated simulation of multi-models of global and Chinese energy-economy-environment-climate”.

Research

About Us

Institute of Energy, Environment and Economy, Tsinghua University (3E), established in 1980, is a university-wide research and education institution supported by Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology, Tsinghua University. 3E is among the pioneers in terms of research on energy systems analysis and climate change among Chinese universities. 3E has also been selected as a key national center for Management Science and Engineering research and education by Ministry of Education. 3E is also among the earliest institutions which are entitled to have doctoral and post-doctoral programs in China. Now, the institute has 27 full-time researchers, and more than 30 doctoral students and 10 master students. It received the second prize (two times) and third prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and the first prize of Outstanding Research Achievements of Institutes of Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences).
