Weng Yuyan is a Research Associate Professor in Institute of Energy, Environment and Economy, Tsinghua University, and has a PhD in Management Science and Engineering.

She has led or participated in a number of nationally funded basic research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), and the National Key Research and Development Program of China, as well as policy advisory assignments commissioned by national high-end think tanks, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE). She is a core member of China's national carbon market research and design team, and a member of the Chinese government delegation to the United Nations climate change negotiations, specifically participating in discussions on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. She serves as a Youth Editorial Board Member of the journal Energy and Climate Management, and is one of lead authors of the Fifth National Climate Change Assessment Report of China. She has been selected into the 10th Young Elite Talent Sponsorship Program of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). She is also a member of the Professional Committee on Carbon Emissions Trading of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, as well as a member of both the Energy Systems Engineering Committee and the Youth Work Committee of the China Energy Research Society. 

Her main research directions include energy economic system modeling, evaluation of low-carbon energy transition pathways, climate change policies and mechanism design, etc.
