Zhou Sheng is a Professor at Institute of Energy, Environment and Economy of Tsinghua University.

His research focuses on nuclear and hydrogen energy strategies, energy system modeling, energy and climate policy, and carbon market mechanisms in China.

His work analyzes China’s energy system and CO₂ emissions pathways from a global perspective, including the roadmap for peaking industrial energy consumption and achieving deep CO₂ emissions reduction. His work also investigates the role of nuclear energy in meeting national emission reduction targets, along with the opportunities and challenges of transitioning from coal to nuclear power in China. Additionally, he explores the potential of hydrogen energy to support China’s shift toward a low-carbon and sustainable energy system.
