On 30 October,the Seminar on "the Belt and Road" Climate Finance 2023 was officially opened in Beijing, sponsored by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment(MEE), co-sponsored by Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Singapore, and organized by the Institute of Energy, Environment and Economy, Tsinghua University(3E), Tsinghua-UFRJ China-Brazil Center for Climate Change and Energy Technology Innovation(CCBCE), the Wuxi Research Institute of Applied Technologies of Tsinghua University, and the China-Latin America International Joint Research Center for Clean Energy and Climate Change.

Nearly 30 officials, experts and technicians from 21 countries along the Belt and Road, including Brazil, Argentina, Indonesia, Egypt and Chile, came to Beijing to participate in the training. JIANG Zhaoli, deputy director general of Department of Climate Change of MEE , CHEN Zhihua, director of Division of International Cooperation and Exchanges of Department of Climate Change of MEE , ZHANG Xiliang, director of 3E, LIU Dehua, director of CCBCE, ZHOU Jian, assistant director of 3E, and others, welcomed their arrival.


In two weeks, the training program will be held in Beijing and Wuxi. It includes five core modules of PTPAE: China's policies of climate change, international technology transfer, carbon pricing mechanism, domestic actions and international experience. It will focus on global climate change governance, China's low-carbon development policies and actions, China's low-carbon pilot exploration, China's energy transformation path, low-carbon technology application, international technology transfer cooperation, carbon pricing mechanism, climate financing, etc., and integrate professional courses, successful low-carbon cases and cultural experience exchanges.
